About Amcham

Founded in 1919  as a classic chamber of commerce, Amcham has become an entity with a wider scope. Today’s Amcham offers a portfolio of products and services that qualifies the chamber as one of the biggest organizations in Brazil providing services to the business community.

Amcham has 150 discussion committees for various topics; task forces to work on essential themes to improve business environment; an intensive schedule of seminars, fairs, and lectures with prominent Brazilian businessmen and Brazilian and American authorities;  trade missions; services to importers and exporters; a center for out-of-court settlement of disputes;  visa program in partnership with the Consulate General of the United States in São Paulo and business centers located in São Paulo and other 12 cities troughout the country, that host it´s own and third-party events. Amcham’s activities attract more than 150 thousand professionals per year.

Amcham has approximately 5 thousand members divided between small, medium, and large-sized companies of as many as 40 different nationalities; and gathers the most various segments of the Brazilian business community. It is therefore an institution representative of many sectors and regions, a generator of rich content that forms an unparalleled picture of all the important happenings in this country’s private sector.

Since 2010, one of the main focuses of Amcham’s work has been to identify and eliminate bottlenecks that threaten the country’s greater competitiveness. Amcham has been also a champion on pushing international trade relations.

Connected to São Paulo headquarters,  Amcham has branches in twelve brazilian cities: Campinas, Ribeirão Preto, Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Joinville, Belo Horizonte, Uberlândia, Brasília, Goiânia, Campo Grande, Recife, Salvador and Fortaleza.
